Free for Writing for Animals alumni

In this two-hour online Zoom workshop, we will share what you need to know to be sure your book submissions are seen and taken seriously. We’ll offer tips for query letters, dos and don’ts for submissions, what editors and agents look for in a good query/submission, and how to effectively track your submissions.

We’ll include myriad handouts and resources, and bring your laptop or a notebook for some hands-on writing and note-taking. It’s never too soon to start preparing for publication, and this workshop is for writers at all stages of the process, whether you’re just starting out or have finished your book and are looking for its future home.

About the instructors: Midge and John have worked in publishing for nearly three decades and co-founded Ashland Creek Press in 2011. As published authors themselves, their books have entered the world in every possible way, from Big Five books to small press titles to self-published works. This class will include ample time to answer all of your questions about publishing and getting your work into the world.
